The Sierras

from $19.00

From the summit of Mount Bago, CA | 2020

The high peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains typically hold onto the snow even as summer begins in mid-June. Many first-time hikers in these mountains assume that a June or July trip will surely be snow-free, but this place is home to many glaciers and year-round snow pockets that make travel difficult during any season. On this particular trip to the top of Bago Peak a large snow bridge near the summit nearly blocked our access to the peak until we found a safe way around it. When we finally reached the summit, we were rewarded with this view.
