Elusive Pika
Near Kearsarge Pass, Sierra Nevada mountains, CA | 2020
Perhaps the cutest animal I’ve come across while hiking, this tiny pika was hiding among the rocks around 12,000 feet (3,600 meters) elevation. I spent way too much time trying to photograph this little fella as it was hopping in between and under various rocks. It’s distinctive ears were always perked high up each time it stopped, seemingly posing for a very quick photo before disappearing under the next rock.
